This week I got to go to a peach farm in Las Vegas, Nevada called Gilcrease Orchard, I didn’t realize how many different types of fruit and vegetables could grow in the desert until now.

Picking peaches was pretty darn fun. We were there for about an hour and the staff we super nice and friendly.

My Mom ended up making peach cobbler from the peaches we picked, but not a regular peach pie. Classic Mrs.Schugar does not like following directions and didn’t have all the ingredients to even follow the directions so instead she added lemon juice, brown sugar and a little bit of butter. It turned out out pretty good, but who’s surprised, ripe peaches and sugar. I mean come on

Gilcrease also had a row of sunflowers. Sunflowers in Las Vegas. But sunflowers in the desert… it was a little week. In Seattle the sunflower fields open in the middle of August. If you live in Seattle check out both Maris Farms and Bob’s Corn Farm.
